Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Rita Wilson and Mark Ruffalo are among the names who have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2017.
The wrestler-turned-actor, who stars in franchises such as Fast and Furious, and alongside Kevin Hart in the recent comedy release, Central Intelligence is along 33 other stars, including Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds, Hulk and Avengers star Mark Ruffalo, soloist John Legend and Sleepless in Seattle’s Rita Wilson.
For Johnson, this represents a very impressive achievement considering his career change only a few years ago. ‘The Rock’ has gone from being something of comic relief, in films like The Tooth Fairy to dominating roles such as Luke Hobbs, since his debut in Fast Five.
This year’s nominees were announced today outside the Fonda theatre in Hollywood and will join the other 612 names on the world-renowned boulevard.
This year’s selections were made by current Head of the Committee Vin Di Bona, who said: “The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is thrilled to announce our newest honorees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.” She then praised the wide variety of new names adding: “The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world.”
