Tom DeLonge responds to rumors surrounding his departure of Blink-182

We wanted to believe that the former Blink-182 bandmate left the band to pursue his UFO interest, but was the truth really out there?

Apparently, it so according to the man himself. DeLonge took to Facebook to crush those who believed in this amazing, if not ridiculous reason as to why he left Blink-182, stating: “Quitting the band to search for UFOs? Hahahaha WTF is wrong with you media.”

DeLonge continued: “I’m actually talking to Travis [Blink-182 drummer] about us right now… Never did quit, remember? But – Am I currently working with people in the government? YES. Including leadership from DOD [Department of Defense], Intelligence and Executive Branch? YES. Just wait for the documentary before considering ridiculous headlines. Haha… #serketmachines”

It seems as though it’s a rough subject to decipher, since DeLonge did recently state to Mic that “dealing with something that’s a national security issue, and you’re being gifted with the opportunity to communicate with something you’ve been passionate about your whole life – something that has the opportunity to change the world over time – being a small part of that is enormously important for my life path.”

DeLonge did clarify, however, that he was not going to burn himself out, adding “But I can’t do everything. I can’t tour nine months out of the year with enough time to do the enormity of what I’m setting out to do.”
