Steven Spielberg promises not to kill off Indiana Jones

Steven Spielberg has revealed that he will not be killing off the titular whip-cracking hero in the next Indiana Jones film.

The film franchise’s long standing director, Spielberg revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that: “The one thing I will tell you is I’m not killing off Harrison at the end of it.” This will come as relief to the fan-base after Harrison Ford’s other fan favourite character, Han Solo suffered his dramatic death at the hands of his son last year, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Although little else is known about Indiana Jones 5’s plot, Spielburg went on to say that he’s “super excited” about the film.  However with a release date of July 19th 2019, we have a few years to wait before the adventuring archaeologist swings back on to our screens.

Along with Spielberg and Ford, the film will see the return of other series veterans like writer David Koepp and composer John Williams. However, Shia Labeouf is unlikely to return to in his role as Mutt Williams, despite his involvement in the fourth film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Indiana Jones 5 has the provisional release date of July 19th, 2019. Watch the trailer for the other films below:
