Poppy Miller and Sam Clemmett have been cast as Ginny Weasley and Albus Potter in the upcoming West-End play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Ever since it was announced last year, there has been rampant interest and speculation as to exactly what this new play, said to be the eighth instalment in the Harry Potter franchise, will involve plot-wise, and who will be portraying the various characters.

We can now tick off another two roles from the list, as Poppy Miller and Sam Clemmett have joined the cast, which already includes Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley and Norma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger.

Images released on the official Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Pinterest account showed Miller and Clemmett respectively in their roles as Harry’s wife and his youngest son. Clemmett has previously had roles in The Musketeers, Doctors and Holby City. Miller meanwhile has been parts in Line of Duty and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Both performers will be making their West End debut, and with such key roles, expectation will be very high indeed.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will focus on the boy wizard’s youngest son Albus as he struggles to live up to his father’s dramatic legacywhile struggling to escape the shadow of his father.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is directed by John Tiffany and opens on 30th July 2016 at the Palace Theatre London.
