Red Hot Chili Peppers to debut new song this Thursday

The long-awaited return of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is finally here, with the band announcing via Twitter that a new song will debut this Thursday (5th May).

The track is entitled ‘Dark Necessities’, with the band tweeting a photo of said song title and the caption: ‘New song Thursday’. Sources and fans alike are speculating that information regarding the new album is set to be announced alongside the track on Thursday.

Chad Smith, drummer of RHCP, recently revealed that Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich was in the process of mixing the band’s new album. Their last record, ‘I’m With You’, was released in 2011.

In the meantime, the band have a few tour dates and festival appearances lined-up for this coming summer, including headlining slots at Reading and Leeds and T in the Park.
