Legendary British rock group The Who have today been confirmed as the final headliners for this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival.

There are four names always on or near the top of the list of all time great rock ‘n’ roll bands: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who. The latter of those four are this year celebrating their 50th anniversary and will be bringing their Hits 50! tour to the Isle of Wight for their only festival appearance of 2016.

Original members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will be joined by touring members Zak Starkey, Pino Palladino and Simon Townshend. The Who join Queen + Adam Lambert, as well as Stereophonics and Faithless to complete the list of headliners for Isle Of Wight 2016.

Speaking of The Who’s headline booking, the festival’s organiser John Giddings said: “The Who are part of the fabric of The Isle of Wight Festival, and it’s great to welcome them back to the island as part of their ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations. We’re proud to have a line up of home-grown headliners to help celebrate our own 15th anniversary and ensure that this year delivers yet another unforgettable weekend of music.”

Isle Of Wight Festival 2016 will take place between 9th-12th June at Seaclose Park in Newport.
