Coldplay to headline Glastonbury 2016

The first confirmed headliner for this year’s Glastonbury Festival has been announced, with Coldplay set to top the Sunday bill, alongside Jeff Lynne’s ELO.

The band confirmed the news earlier today after tweeting a cheeky image of their latest album’s artwork in front of some sheep and the festival’s infamous pyramid stage.

Coldplay have been favourites to headline this year’s festival ever since Chris Martin was rumoured to be forming a supergroup to top the bill last year. The 2016 event will mark the fourth time that the band have headlined the festival, breaking the record for the festival’s most frequent headline act.

Glastonbury Festival will take place at Worthy Farm from 22nd-26th June 2016. For more information and ticket details, visit their website.
