Channel 5 confirms X-Files return date on UK television

After a month of Channel 5 advertising The X-Files’ return to the UK as being in ‘early February’, the channel have now announced that the six-episode event series will begin at 9pm on Monday 8th February.

The revival has already begun in the US, with a double-night premiere that saw the first episode airing after the NFL Championships (24th January). Episode two followed the next evening (25th January). The show premiered with an astounding 16.5 million viewers, making it the fifth highest rating program of the week.

The X-Files sees the return of Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) on their continuing search for the truth, alongside fan favorites Assistant Director Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and the villainous Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis).
