Due to air next year, David Lynch’s revival of the Twin Peaks series is set to air on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

Sky Atlantic announced today (21st January) that they have obtained the UK rights to both the Twin Peaks revival series, and also all of Showtime’s original shows after coming to a new long-term agreement with the US network.

Director David Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost have taken a different approach to the production of the revival series. Instead of writing episodic scripts, the pair wrote one long script for the revival, and Lynch is shooting the series as a continuous movie before editing the footage down into individual episodes.

As it stands, Twin Peaks is set to air nine new episodes, but is now expected to run longer than originally anticipated.

Original cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee are set to return, alongside rumoured newcomers, Laura Dern, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Robert Knepper and Balthazar Getty.
