In an exciting festive announcement, Union Films have revealed that they will be showing Deadpool in February, alongside the film’s general cinema release.

The University of Southampton’s very own student cinema, which is situated in the SUSU building at the heart of Highfield Campus, will be screening the highly-anticipated superhero movie from 10th February 2016 – the same time that the film is set to be unleashed upon the nation’s biggest cinema chains.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, the film follows a terminally ill, former special forces operative who is subjected to an experiment which leaves him severely disfigured, but oddly powerful. Armed with new abilities, a suit made of tight red spandex and a very twisted sense of humour, the newly made Deadpool vows to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Directed by Tim Miller, the film also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapičić.

Further details about Union FilmsDeadpool screenings will be revealed in the new year.
