Mild spoiler warning for Star Wars: The Force Awakens! If you want to remain pure, stay away.

Daniel Craig’s much-discussed cameo in the latest Star Wars instalment has finally been revealed.

It’s been floating around in the public discourse for a while that several famous actors have filmed cameos in the newly released Lucasfilm blockbuster, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In an interview in May, Simon Pegg (close friends with director J.J. Abrams) revealed not only that he had a cameo, but that fellow Brit (and James Bond superstar) Daniel Craig had also recorded a cameo as a Stormtrooper.

Craig denied it, rather vehemently when asked by Entertainment Weekly reporter Chris Lee, but he later confirmed that in fact, Craig did cameo as a Stormtrooper, in one of the film’s funniest scenes.

It’s at this point that the mild spoilers begin, so fair warning had, proceed with caution if you’ve yet to see the film.

The difficulty with people cameoing as stormtroopers is that you can’t see their face, but Craig is one of the few Stormtroopers in the film to get lines beyond barking orders or screaming in pain. It’s his clipped tones that emanate from beneath the helmet of the trooper guarding Rey (Daisy Ridley) after she’s been captured and placed in the torture chamber aboard Kylo Ren’s Star Destroyer.

She tests out her burgeoning Force powers on the trooper, attempting to use the Jedi mind trick on him in order to be released. It’s one of the best moments in the whole film, with a crowd-pleasing and really funny conclusion, in a film full of genuine comedy.
