Adele has been announced as the first confirmed live act for next year’s Brit Awards.

The record breaking artist will take to the Brit Award stage in February. Speaking of booking Adele, Brit Award chairman Max Lousada said: “You couldn’t get a bigger name in music right now. Adele is having an exceptional moment and The BRITs are delighted to be a part of her history, her present and future.”

Adele is a Brit School graduate, and has won a total of three Brit awards so far in her career. She last took the stage in 2012 where she famously got cut off during her acceptance speech for Best Album by host James Corden to allow Blur to perform. This resulted in the singer flipping off the camera.

It has already been announced that singer-songwriter Jack Garratt will pick up the Brits Critics’ Choice Award – the same award that Adele picked up in 2008.

The Brit Awards will be hosted by Ant and Dec and broadcast live on ITV on 24th February 2016.
