First official Ghostbusters reboot photo released

For a film as big as 2016’s Ghostbusters reboot, not much has been revealed about the next instalment in the franchise other than a few plot points and some set photographs.

But thanks to the site Planet Ghostbusters, we now have our first official photo of the new gang of Ghostbusters in preparation for the franchise’s return next July.

The photo (above) is as about as Ghostbuster-y as you can get, with Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones posing in the iconic (and seemingly improved) jumpsuits, along with the famous proton packs in front of a slimy green, misty backdrop.

The reboot is set to star an all-female leading cast, with Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey and Andy Garcia in supporting roles. The film is also set to include cameos from original Ghostbusters alumni, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

The plot harkens back to the first installment, with Wiig and McCarthy playing two disgraced authors who write a book about ghosts declaring that they’re real. Ghosts eventually invade Manhattan, leaving the bustin’ team to save the day.

The film is set to be directed by Paul Feig, who is a frequent collaborator with McCarthy and Wiig – directing 2011’s Bridesmaids and 2013’s The Heat.

Ghostbusters will be released on 15th July 2016. Get yourself in the bustin’ mood with the famous theme song below.
