20th Century Fox have unveiled the first trailer for their gargantuan upcoming superhero epic, X-Men: Apocalypse.

Directed by Bryan Singer, the film follows all our favourite mutants, both good and evil, as they come face to face with their most formidable opponent yet – an ancient sentient-like being named Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac).

When Apocalypse awakens, he seeks to dominate the world; taking on a couple of troubled, yet powerful mutants to be his “Horsemen,” including a young Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Angel (Ben Hardy). Eventually, every mutant on Earth must step up and fight, or else be consumed by Apocalypse entirely.

The trailer only catches glimpses of the film’s huge ensemble cast, but key players include James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan and Sophie Turner.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit UK cinemas on 19th May 2016. Watch the trailer below.
