Noel Fielding and Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno have finally revealed their long-discussed Christmas single.

The surreal track, entitled ‘Can’t Wait For Christmas’, has been released under the duo’s musical moniker, Loose Tapestries, wherein the two friends appear using their respective nicknames; Vacuum Cloud and The Decision.

The black and white video, which features eerily static 2D ventriloquist cut-outs of the comedian and musician, was directed by Nigel Coan – who has previously worked with Fielding on his Luxury Comedy series.

The song, which contains cheery riffs and increasingly strange lyrics (“Thank you for the joystick, thank you for socks, thank you for the Rolex, thank you for the yacht, but the stationery… it be going in the dustbin”), resolves in a delightfully weird rap, courtesy of Luther actor, Idris Elba.

Discussing Elba’s involvement, Pizzorno said: “He was doing the Mandela film at the time and we were laughing, saying, ‘Imagine doing that and then coming down and dropping a Christmas rap on a medieval psych-prog record.”
