Supergirl has finally received a UK airdate and broadcaster, with the DC series coming to Sky One later this month.

Starring Melissa Benoist, the series follows the so-called ‘Maid of Might’, otherwise known as Kara Danvers, as she learns to embrace her Krypton powers and fight against evil. The series, developed by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg, also stars the likes of Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Mechad Brooks and David Harewood.

Speaking of the commission, Sky One’s director, Adam MacDonald, said: “I am delighted to announce Supergirl is coming to Sky1. We’ve already seen in the success of The Flash and Arrow that comic-book characters are a big hit with our customers, and with this fresh, fast-paced new series, we’re giving them another sure-fire superhero smash.”

Supergirl will soar onto Sky One at 8pm on Thursday 29th October – just three days after the US premiere.
