The Angry Birds have made the leap from small screen to silver screen in the first trailer for their upcoming animated movie.

The film, which is based on the popular mobile app by Rovio, features a hilarious voice cast, including the likes of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Maya Rudolph and Danny McBride.

Bill Hader also appears in the film voicing an enemy pig, while Game of Thrones‘ Peter Dinklage will provide the vocals for a mysterious character known as ‘The Mighty Eagle.’

Angry Birds was first created as an iOS game in 2009, and has been downloaded more than 300 million times since then. The app – which is considered the most successful ‘freemium’ game series of all time – allows players to fling vengeful-looking birds at unsuspecting pigs in order to score points.

The 3D animation has been produced by Sony, with a screenplay written by Simpsons‘ writer, Jon Vitti.

The Angry Birds Movie is slated for release on 13th May 2016. Watch the trailer below.
