According to Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters were set to perform at last night’s Primetime Emmy awards, but were “kicked off” prior to the ceremony.

Earlier this month, the band were nominated for four awards, and won two accolades at the Creative Arts ceremony of the 67th Emmy Awards on 12th September.

TMZ caught up with Grohl after the event yesterday, asking why he and the band didn’t attend the award show. Grohl replied, “You know what, we were supposed to play on the Emmys, and we were gonna play on the Emmys, and then they kicked us off.” When asked why, Grohl replied, “I can’t tell you. Do your research, but they did.”

According to TMZ, a rep for Grohl told the site that FOX had allegedly refused Foo Fighters the chance to play a full song from Sonic Highways, opting for the band to play half of a song from their two-time Emmy Award winning series before finishing up with their hit song ‘Learn To Fly’. Reportedly, Grohl and the band didn’t agree with this decision, and so ended up not playing the show altogether.
