Kristen Stewart will soon be stepping into the shoes of fashion icon, Coco Chanel in a short film for the fashion house, directed by another famous designer; Karl Lagerfeld.

Described as a “mini-movie,” Lagerfeld and Stewart filmed the as-yet-untitled project in the Parisian studio of French film-maker, Luc Besson. Stewart is the current face of Chanel and is often seen seated front row at fashion shows. In July, she also walked down a casino-themed runway with the likes of Julianne Moore, Rita Ora and Lily Cole.

The short mini-movie also stars Geraldine Chaplin, who has previously played the late designer in other short films directed by Lagerfeld. Women’s Wear Daily describes the film as a “fictional behind-the-scenes looks at a yet-to-be-made biopic” about Coco Chanel. Lagerfeld told WWD that Stewart played the role perfectly by portraying Chanel as a “really, really mean” fashionista who “complains about everything.”

The movie is slated to premiere on 1st December at Chanel’s Metiers d’Arts show in Rome.
