Trailer for new James Dean biopic, Life, is released – watch

The first trailer for James Dean biopic, Life, has been released. The film stars Robert Pattinson, as Life magazine photographer Dennis Stock and Dane DeHaan as the late actor.

In the trailer, Pattinson can be seen helping DeHaan’s Dean become an international star. Life is based on the real-life friendship between Stock and Dean, who met in the early 1950’s when Stock wanted to do a photo essay on the (then) relatively unknown actor.

The film sees the pair embark on a road trip as part of a magazine interview, which was later shut down by Stock’s editor (Joel Edgerton). The trailer also features conflicts with Dean’s studio executive Jack Warner (Sir Ben Kingsley), who insisted that Dean blow off his ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ look and play by the same rules as other actors, like Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney and Douglas Fairbanks, before him.

Directed by Anton Corbijn, the film looks masterfully composed and cinematically perfect – without a stone un-turned, in order for it to so authentically recapture the 1950’s and the now iconic photographs taken by Stock.
