The Weinstein Company have released the first official trailer for upcoming LGBT drama, About Ray.
The film, which was previously known as Three Generations, stars Elle Fanning as the eponymous Ray – a New York City teenager who is desperate to finally make the transition from female to male.
The story then follows Ray and his mother, Maggie (Naomi Watts), as they struggle to get the transitioning process started – a task made even more difficult by Ray’s estranged father, Craig (Tate Donovan), who is reluctant to give his legal consent. Meanwhile Ray’s grandmother, Dolly (Susan Sarandon), also finds difficulty in accepting Ray’s need to switch genders.
Directed by Gaby Dellal, About Ray is set to hit US cinemas on 18th September. The film has yet to be given a UK release date. Watch the trailer below.
