Surge Radio and University of Southampton alumni, Emma Jo Real-Davies has joined the Capital South Coast breakfast show as a co-presenter, alongside comedian Tom Deacon.

Emma was involved in Surge Radio throughout her time at University, and sat on their committee as Programme Controller from 2013-2014. She was nominated three times for a national Student Radio Award for best female presenter, being awarded the bronze award in 2013.

Speaking to The Edge about her new role, Emma said: “I’m so excited to have been given the chance to co-present a regional Capital Breakfast show with Tom Deacon! It’s such an honour to work with one of the biggest commercial stations in the country in an area that I know and love. It’s great working with Tom too, he’s so naturally funny and it’s great that we just click.”

The duo replace Paul Gillies and Emily Segal, who dissapeared from the show last month. Capital have yet to comment on the pair’s disappearance. This is Emma’s second radio gig since leaving university, having previously presented The Hit List on local Kent station kmfm.

You can listen to the show weekdays from 6am, on 103.2FM on the South Coast, online and on the Capital app.
