Robert Pattinson is set to star in a new movie entitled Good Time.

The Hollywood Reporter has called the film a ‘neo-grindhouse caper’, with the plot focusing on a criminal whose bank-robbing spree looks to be nearing an end as the authorities get closer to capturing him. Pattinson has reportedly been cast in the lead role of Connie.

Josh and Benny Safdie will direct the film, based on a script co-written by the two brothers and Ronald Bronstein. The trio’s most recent film, Heaven Knows What, opened in May and received critical success.

Pattinson was photographed at the premiere of Heaven Knows What with the Safdies. At the time, it was thought that he was there to show support for the production company, Iconoclast, which is also producing Pattinson’s upcoming project, The Trap.

The brothers tweeted the news of Pattinson’s casting on Thursday (9th July) stating; “Excited to announce a project we’ve been working on and very excited to make with the untameable Robert Pattinson. He will be FULL THROTTLE, get excited.”

Since wrapping the Twilight franchise, Pattinson has steered clear from Hollywood blockbusters by appearing in several independent such as Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars and David Michod’s The Rover.

Pattinson has several films in the pipeline with Queen of the Desert and the James Dean/Dennis Stock biopic, Life – which is set to be released this year. The actor has also just wrapped production on The Childhood of a Leader and is soon set to star in The Lost City of Z, alongside Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam and Sienna Miller.

The casting of Good Time comes just weeks after Pattinson dropped out of Brimstone due to scheduling conflicts. Pattinson has since been replaced by Games of Throne’s Kit Harington.
