It has been confirmed that Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom are to be the new hosts of The Xtra Factor, replacing DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford on the ITV spin-off show.
“I have watched The Xtra Factor for years so I am beyond excited about joining such a brilliant team, and getting to work with my old friend Melvin makes it even better,” Humes said. “I also can’t wait to meet the contestants and be a part of their X Factor experience.”
Odoom – who co-hosts the KISS FM breakfast show with Rickie Haywood Williams – revealed that he has always been a “massive fan” of The X Factor. “To get to present The Xtra Factor is a dream for me,” he said. “We are there to support the contestants and have fun – I’m really looking forward to it.”
The duo will be backstage at every stage of the competition – from the auditions to judges houses and the live shows. They will also be getting all the gossip from the new judging line up which includes X Factor regulars, Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini as well as the newly announced judges, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw.
The X Factor and The Xtra Factor will air later this year on ITV 1 and ITV 2 respectively.
