Surge Radio have broadcasted for 48 hours straight all in the aid of charity. They set up camp outside The Stags Head on the Redbrick in their marquee studios from Thursday 19 March at 00:01 until Friday 20 at 23:59.

Bar a few technical difficulties, the event was a huge success. With over 40 DJs involved, there was live music from the incredible Nine Ace Deck, the Sabbs took part in ‘Sabb-a-Selfie’ and there was even some impromptu karaoke

The event raised £600.05 for SUSU RAG and the Teenage Cancer Trust, and the team at Santander have pledge to match fund this which takes Surge’s total up to £1200.10!

Toby Leveson, who was head of Marketing and PR for the 48 hour marathon, said: “It was a really great event enjoyed by everyone who took part. We raised a fantastic amount for both Teenage Cancer Trust and RAG and we thank Santander for their support in doubling our total, and for everyone who donated for these worthwhile causes!”

If you want to donate it’s not too late; you can donate now on their Just Giving page.

The Edge gives a huge congratulations to everybody who was involved.
