The announcement was made this morning on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 1 breakfast show. The annual list is voted for by 170 of the UK’s top journalists, broadcasters and tastemakers, and aims to draw attention to some of the most promising new musical acts.

Ella Eyre also featured on The Edge’s THE LIST 2014 which also tipped some of the most exciting acts of 2014. The 19-year-old Londoner is most well known for her collaboration with Rudimental ‘Waiting All Night’. Eyre released her debut single ‘Deeper’ in December.

The long list of 15 acts nominated for the prestigious Sound of… poll was unveiled last month, and featured artists including Sam SmithMNEK and Say Lou Lou. Last year, Haim won the accolade.
