Ellie Goulding voice of Children in Need’s 2013 charity single

Just weeks after hitting the number one spot with her single ‘Burn‘, Ellie Goulding has gained more success, having been revealed as the voice behind Children in Need’s 2013 campaign song.

The 26-year-old singer has covered The Waterboys’ ‘How Long Will I Love You’ but has taken a different angle on the song. Much like her cover of Elton John’s ‘Your Song‘, Goulding allows her voice to be the centre of the song rather than the backing music adding an edgy feel to the track. Although the original is comparatively more upbeat, there is something haunting in the way Goulding sings.

The singer stated:

“I’ve grown up watching BBC Children in Need so it’s fantastic that I’m doing this year’s single! It is an emotional song, but in a really positive way, and I’ve been completely blown away with the positive reaction it’s had already”.

The single is to be officially released on the 10th of November.
