Glastonbury 2014 tickets sell out

Tickets to Glastonbury 2014 have sold out in a record time.

120,000 tickets went on sale this morning, but it took only an hour and 27 minutes for them all to go (13 minutes quicker than last year!).

Over a million people had registered in advance for this year’s festival, but the £210 tickets were snapped up by keen festival-goers, despite technical issues with the See Tickets website.

Despite the difficulties, it wasn’t long before sales were flowing again. The ticketing website apologised saying “Update – after a very difficult half an hour, we’ve stabilised and are processing orders. Lots of orders! Sorry for the inconvenience.”

In a statement, organisers Emily and Michael Eavis said they were blown away by the demand for tickets, but also apologised to those that didn’t get one, saying: “We genuinely try to make the ticket system as fair as it can be, but when demand outstrips supply, it is an unfortunate inevitability that some people will be left disappointed.”

Glastonbury 2014 will take place between Wednesday 25th June and Sunday 29th June.
