The Vaccines are the next high-profile act to show their support for Southampton’s iconic music venue The Joiners, situated on St Mary Street in the city centre. The venue, which was voted Southampton’s Best Small Music Venue by NME, will play host to the band who released their second album Come Of Age last year, and were recently nominated for the British Live Act category at the BRIT Awards.

The Joiners announced that they had fallen on hard times in November, with owner Patrick Muldowney saying: “We need to reach out and express the severity of our state to our local community and loyal regulars… The bottom line is the place will die without some help.”

Winchester-born Frank Turner was the first act to play a benefit gig at The Joiners in December, with phenomenal demand for tickets causing Turner to play two shows that day. Tickets sold out in 90 seconds, making it the fastest selling show ever at The Joiners.

The Vaccines’ gig will take place on Tuesday 22nd January, with tickets going on sale at 5.30pm today through the Joiners’ website.
