Slash to Try His Hand at Horror

Slash has just announced that he plans to begin making movies, The EDGE can reveal. He has set up his own production company entitled Slasher Films, and according to deadline.com, he wants to specialise in the waning genre of horror.

He explains: “I’ve always been a huge horror fan and creating films that take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you is something I’ve always wanted to do. My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers, with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy.”

So what can you expect from Slash’s first foray into the movie world? Slasher Film‘s first attempt at the helm of producing comes from Nothing to Fear, a horror about a town haunted by a vampiric demon. Slash promises it to be something contemporary that acknowledges the true horror of thrillers from the 1970’s and 80’s, nodding to the precursors of modern horror along the way.

We eagerly await the release of Slasher Film‘s first movie, and commend Slash for proving, yet again, that he has moved on from Guns n’ Roses in a way that ridiculed Axl Rose apparently cannot – I doubt we are going to see the emergence of ‘Axl Productions Co.’ any time soon.
