After interviewing DJ Fresh and meeting his band, there was a lot of excitement for his full live show in Portsmouth.

Beginning with a smooth, well-received performance from grime artist Maxsta, who is certainly one to look out for over the coming months, the crowd were warmed up with newly released ‘Pop Off’. He was followed by second support act of the night, Drumsound and Bassline Smith, who eventually got the crowd jumping on ‘Through the night,’ with impressive vocals from Tom K.

DJ Fresh was accompanied by singer Fleur, Messy MC who got the crowd screaming for more, and moving to ‘The Edge’. The combination of complex, striking lighting and Fleur’s flawless vocals on The Feeling proved live is better even with electronic dance music. ‘Gold Dust’, ‘The Power’ and ‘Skyhighatrist’ were all popular choices, but as almost all tracks off his album are chart-toppers, the crowd were not hard to convince.

Despite many a sweaty teenager moshing at every opportunity, Fresh and his band provided a high-energy set. Never failing to engage the audience, Fresh and his band ended on Hot Right Now, for which Fleur’s vocals were an equal match to Rita Ora, followed by a huge demand for an encore from his hyped audience.
