Preview: Jamie Lenman at Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth

Fresh off the bat selling out Lenmania, his all day festival at the Dome/Boston Music Room venues in Tufnell Park, London, Jamie Lenman is back with a tour throughout the whole of February. This tour support of his recently released studio album Devolver back in October via Big Scary Monsters. The tour includes dates in Newcastle, London, Portsmouth and Cardiff and will include support from Gender Roles and Loa Loa.

Devolver is Jamie’s second solo effort in 4 years following the 2013 release Muscle Memory and his previous work in the massively underrated and missed Reuben. Unlike Muscle Memory, which was a double album of noisy metal and hardcore on one side and folk, jazz and blues on the other, Devolver is a more (within reason) eclectic and highly accessible album which blends numerous styles of heavy and incredibly melodic music. The album was hugely acclaimed by critics, receiving 4 star reviews from publications such as Guitarist, Total Guitar, Rock Sound and 5 star reviews from Up-Set and the Independent. The Independent went as far as describing him as “one of the greatest songwriters of his generation”.  This will be his second tour in under a year following recent dates last year from April to May in anticipation for the release of Devolver.

Tickets for the tour are available here.
