Independent record labels seem to be a dying breed in Britain, however Felix White of The Maccabees is keen to reverse this trend with the creation of his new label and club night Yala! Records. Its third bi-monthly club night falls on Friday 27th January at Bermondsey Social Club, London.
The night begins with a set from new British band Crows, who will be bringing their garage-physch sound back to their hometown of London for a special show. Music will carry on late in to the night with as-yet unnannounced special guest DJs, which have so far included the likes of Wolf Alice and Mystery Jets.
Last October, Crows were invited in to The Maccabees’ own studio in Elephant & Castle to record the very first Yala! live session. Three intimate tracks were recorded, one of which, ‘Moonstruck’, can be viewed below.
The night promises to showcase some of the best of new British music and throw in a few surprises for those lucky enough to attend this big party in a small venue.
