“Big beats are the best. Get high all the time.” That’s the mantra that Peep Show‘s drug-addled musician Super Hans is bringing to his rescheduled show at Southampton’s Engine Rooms this February. After ‘crack-ing’ Glastonbury last summer, Hans is out on his own headline tour dubbed ‘Super Hans Alive’.
Asked by Engine Rooms as to what fans should expect, Hans said, “Ever heard anyone mix The Beatles with Run The Jewels, Bowie, Lifelike and Kris Menace into I’ve Got The Power by Snap? No. No you fuckin’ haven’t.” The self-proclaimed ‘musical octopus’ even went so for as to tell NME that “there’s dancey stuff, uplifting stuff, downlifting stuff and a few proper stone-cold classics from the 70s and 80s (and one from the 1840s) which I’ve beefed right up so they rattle your fuckin’ ribcage and make you weep with joy at the same time.” It sounds like a night to remember (though Hans probably won’t).
Super Hans will be joined on stage, not by ex-bandmate Jez but by Psycho Pab and The Hombre from UNKLE, completing the Big Beat Manifesto line-up. Expect onstage antics and banging mixes.
It’s going to be really more-ish. Tickets can be purchased here.
