Preview: Will Joseph Cook at Boston Music Room, London

Fresh from a brief tour in support of Irish quintet Walking On Cars, Tunbridge Wells singer/songwriter Will Joseph Cook plays his largest London headline show yet next Tuesday at the 250 capacity Boston Music Room in Tufnell Park.

The show comes just over two weeks after the release of ‘Take Me Dancing,’ a measured and tender second release for Atlantic Records with a powerful chorus and vibrant melody. His indie pop has so far this year featured in Austin, Texas, Extravaganza SXSW, and his UK festival spots include Brighton’s The Great Escape last month and upcoming performances at Reading & Leeds.

‘Girls Like Me,’ a bubbly, lighthearted ditty with an equally amusing video featuring Cook speed-dating himself, recently spent time on BBC Radio 1’s ‘In New Music We Trust’ playlist and as the track of the week for Abbie McCarthy, sitting in for Huw Stephens on the late-night slot. Exhibiting his lively persona filtered through a sheen of gentle Americana, the video has racked up over 100,000 views on YouTube and almost twice as many spins on SoundCloud, showing the artist, who has supported the likes of Kaiser Chiefs and Everything Everything in 2015, to have a growing fanbase of his own.
