Preview: T in the Park 2016

Often a slightly under-looked festival in favour of Reading and Leeds, this year T in the Park have attempted to stake their claim as the biggest alternative rock festival in the UK.

Headliners begin with legendary Manchester band The Stone Roses, less than a month after their four sold-out gigs at the Etihad Stadium in their hometown. With rumours of a new album this year, and love for the band barely diminished since their heyday in the early 90s, pack your bucket hat and lemon shirt to see one of the most mythologised bands in UK music live in the flesh.

The second night belongs to dance music as multi-award winning Scottish DJ Calvin Harris tops the bill, before the festival closes out with Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Red Hot Chilli Peppers – a band who surely need no introduction.

The strength of T’s line-up this year is deeper than just the headliners, as Disclosure, The 1975, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Coral, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Courteeners, Bastille, Jake Bugg, Chase & Status, The Kaiser Chiefs and a host of other huge names are part of a stellar 2016 line up for the Scottish festival.
