Preview: South West Four Festival 2016

South West Four is a two day dance festival taking place in Clapham, UK on the Bank Holiday weekend of 27th and 28th August. Initially, the festival began as a much more intimate gathering way back in 2001 and has since grown to resemble the likes of Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) or Tomorrowland, previously nominated for both Best Dance Festival and Best Metropolitan Festival in the UK.

Having been known to provide some of the largest names in electro-dance as a backdrop for their festivals, SW4’s 2016 line-up is no exception to the rule. This year’s festival promises to host headliners such as Brit Award winning Rudimental, Mercury Prize Winner Dizzee Rascal, Knife Party and The Chemical Brothers. Not to mention Bondax, Gorgon City and NETSKY.

Majority of the acts for Sunday’s line-up have yet to be announced, with Saturday’s line-up in full swing. The acts not to be missed at this year’s offering include:

Rudimental
The four-piece English drum and bass band consisting of Piers Aggett, Amir Amor, Kesi Dryden and Leon Rolle. They are set to headline Saturday’s selection of the event, promising a killer set list of their cult classics including ‘Feel The Love’, featuring John Newman, and ‘Rumour Mill’ off their recently released second album We The Generation.

Knife Party
An Australian electric-dance music duo, Knife Party will also be headlining the Saturday stage at SW4. Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, previously known as one half of Pendulum, have been compared to the likes of Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex and have released a total of four EP’s and one studio album back in 2014, entitled Abandon Ship.

NETSKY
Belgian drum and bass producer (real name Boris Daenen) will feature in the SW4 line-up on Saturday. His career began in 2008 and in 2009 he signed with Hospital Records – just a few months prior to his first release which led to him being nominated for Best Upcoming Producer. His latest track is a single entitled ‘Work It Out’ featuring Digital Farm Animals and was released in January 2016.
