Los Campesinos! are a six piece indie band formed back in 2006 at Cardiff University. They have had five successful studio albums, with their most recent release being 2013’s No Blues. Fronted by Gareth David, the band are renowned for their poppy riffs, melancholic lyrics and complex instrumentation.

The band have toured internationally and have graced the main stage at Reading Festival and the Other Stage at Glastonbury. Their upcoming show at The Hope & Ruin in Brighton is part of their sold out Old ‘n’ Gross tour, which also has dates in Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds and London. Impressively, Los Campesinos! have launched the tour themselves as they do not have a manager, a record label or a booking agent.

Support comes from up-and-coming two-piece Bruising, who have released recent singles ‘Emo Friends’ and ‘Honey’ via Beech Coma. They have been described as ‘the pick of the bunch’ by NME magazine, so it will definitely be worth getting there early to check them out.

Based on their previous live shows, this should be an energetic performance with plenty of opportunity for a sing-along. Tracks to listen out for are ‘You! Me! Dancing!’, ‘By Your Hand’ and  ‘What Death Leaves Behind’.
