Preview: Latitude Festival 2015

0

This year signifies the tenth anniversary of Latitude, the Southwold-based festival for music, comedy, film, theatre, books, and…. Well, essentially anything creative. This year our Head of Design Jack will be heading there for his third time.

So who’s playing this year? At the main stage, the Obelisk Arena, we have Alt-J, Portishead, and Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds headlining respectively, with other performances from Caribou, Wild Beasts, Summer Camp, James Blake, Laura Marling, Manic Street Preachers, and Seasick Steve. The BBC Radio 6 Music Stage is headlined by Jon Hopkins, The Vaccines, and SBTRKT respectively, and are joined by Django Django, Public Service Broadcasting, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Savages, Wolf Alice, Sun Kil Moon, La Roux, and Years and Years.

On the smaller stages there are performances from Ezra Furman, Gengahr, Timber Timbre, Clark, Grandbrothers, Izzy Bizu, The 2 Bears, Zola Jesus, Clean Cut Kid, and Shura. As well as the hundreds of other acts hidden throughout the site.

When it is said that there is a lot going on at this festival, it is far from an understatement. Excluding the three main music stages there are 23 other venues showing an array of performance art, poetry readings, dance, improv, film screenings with the crew, to name but a few. If you like something creative then Latitude has it in abundance.

Latitude Festival takes place between the 16th-19th of July, and if you’re not going you can hear highlights on BBC 6 Music. Tickets can be purchased here.

I like sitting by the fire, long walks on the beach, and sunsets. I am also fond of Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, but I would like to add that I am not into yoga.
