Californian alternative rock group Hoobastank will be finishing off their UK tour at Engine Rooms in Southampton. The band – comprised of Doug Robb, lead vocals; Dan Estrin, guitar; Jesse Charland, bass; Chris Hesse, drums – have a substantial repertoire of tracks, all fan favourites, which have helped define the post-grunge wave of alternative and 90s fusion rock led by artists such as Papa Roach, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.

Hoobastank’s last release was the 2011 album Fight or Flight, which marked a change in tack that was well needed after 20 years of touring and writing. The new direction concerned some, and the album received mixed reviews. The general consensus was that the band could have taken the record further.

But the band, seemingly unperturbed, maintained their hugely loyal fan base which stretches around the globe. Support bands Alien Ant Farm and P.O.D will be adding a few heavy punches to the gut with their own distinctive versions of the hard rock wave.

This show is sold out. Doors are at 6:30pm.
