On Thursday 2nd April, Circa Waves are kicking the month off in style with an intimate gig at the Hippodrome in Kingston Upon Thames. The gig will come shortly after the launch of the band’s upcoming debut album Young Chasers. Mellow London natives Gengahr, who recently returned from South by South West, will be providing support.
Circa Waves formed in Liverpool in 2013 and have already gone on to play Reading & Leeds Festival, Glastonbury, T in the Park and to support The Libertines at Hyde Park last summer. The band has also released one single and an EP. Frontman Kieran Shudall describes the band’s Young Chasers EP as a “mini-greatest hits” and “a good taster of what’s to come” from the full album.
Circa Waves’ debut album will be released 30th March through Universal Records, no doubt much to their rapidly expanding fan base’s delight. Tickets are still available for the band’s Kingston show and at just £9 a ticket it’s set to be a great affordable night for any Londoners back home for Easter. Doors open at 9pm and the party carries on until 2am with a DJ set consisting of all the latest alternative and indie hits.
