Preview: Ashestoangels + 48 Hours @ The Garage, London (01/04/15)

Ashestoangels are a gothic punk band from Bristol who seem to be almost permanently on tour, and they’re at it again this March and April, and this time they’re out on the road with hard rocking Londoners 48 Hours on a short tour which finishes up at The Garage (not the Barfly as it says on their poster!) in London on April 1st.

Anyone who’s ever seen Ashestoangels live will know it’s almost impossible to accurately describe the chaos and sweat-soaked energy of their shows, but suffice to say their show at the Garage promises to be a properly lunatic affair, the sort of old school punk show where bodies are flying everywhere from the first bar of the first song.  They may seem an odd fit with 48 hours initially, but, as Ashestoangels guitarist Falkor puts it ‘They want to take over the world, and we want to take over the world as well, so why not combine our efforts and play some wicked shows together!’

So then, anticipate a show that contains some fantastic old-school goth punk in the vein of bands like AFI and Aiden, performed at energy levels that rival Sonic The Hedgehog after a crate of Red Bull. And if you happen to miss Ashestoangels on this tour, then don’t worry, because they’ve got a live album and DVD coming out very soon that will enable you to experience the madness of their shows in your own living room, should you so choose. Keep an eye on the band’s Facebook for details.
