Johnny Borrell found fame as the frontman of Razorlight and enjoyed huge success throughout the noughties. After taking some time out from the music scene Borrell is back with his solo project Johnny Borell and Zazou.
They are set to play two days after the release of their EP ‘The Artificial Night’. Johnny Borrell and Zazou sees Borrell step away from his indie roots and explore a jazz infused mellow rock sound. The EP includes tracks ‘Cacambo’s March’, which is laced with Spanish overtones and Bob Dylan classic ‘Man Gave Names to All the Animals’ showcasing Borrell’s blues appreciation.
From these two tracks it is clear that Borrell is making a conscious effort to explore new musical paths to that of his band Razorlight.
Johnny Borrell and Zazou will be heading to Lennons on Wednesday 30th April. Support will be supplied by two local artists. First up is singer/songwriter and poet Tom Moody Music. Borrell and Zazou will also be supported by local indie band Cavaliers.

The Artificial Night n’est pas le premier disque de Borrell et Zazou, et Razorlight est un projet mené en parallèle. Le minimum est de se renseigner avant d’écrire…il me semble !
