For those of you unaware, last year the University of Southampton played host to the Takedown festival, which transformed the university into a full blown music festival. With last year’s 4 stages hosting the likes of Skindred, Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis, Bury Tomorrow and Bleed From Within, the festival successfully managed to bring the festival vibe to Southampton.
The good news for students is that after the success of the festival last year, Takedown festival is once again returning to the University of Southampton on the 11th of May!
This year the festival has grown in size and the organisers have managed to squeeze in 5 stages and an after party into this fantastic one day festival. The line-up this year features something for everyone with the wide range of stages playing host to the likes of; The Blackout, While She Sleeps, Don Broco, We Are the Ocean, Mallory Knox, Sonic Boom Six, Arcane Roots, Tesseract, Hacktivist, The Defiled, Shadows Chasing Ghosts, Subsource and Natives. Many more great bands feature on the line-up this year and to see the full line-up head to: http://takedown.vticket.co.uk/
As if the already brilliant line-up during the day wasn’t enough, the organisers of this festival are also attempting something quite brave to really bring the festival vibe to Southampton… an UPRAWR after party in ‘’The Cube’’. Those of you familiar with festivals will know that the day doesn’t end when the bands stop playing, with dance tents now a staple at pretty much every festival. Organisers have stated that revellers can expect; pyro, confetti, glowsticks, inflatable giveaways and other surprises, as well as music from the UPRAWR DJ’s, TEK-ONE, Alex Baker (Kerrang!) and Tommy Noble.
With this year’s festival occurring during term time don’t miss out on the chance to check out a great music festival right on your doorstep! With fast ticket sales, this year’s festival might be a sell-out so don’t miss out on your chance to get a ticket and head to: http://www.seetickets.com/event/takedown-twenty-13/southampton-university/695196
