Live Music Mondays – Sam and the Womp

0

This year sees the launch of Live Music Mondays which will see bigger acts come to SUSU alongside smaller artists as part of the monthly Frequency event run by AIM (the Alternative and Indie Music society). The first Live Music Monday will take place on the first Monday of Freshers’ Week, 24th September. As opposed to the previously ad hoc events on a Monday night, the plan has been to combine the events together.

Spread between The Stag’s Head and The West Ref are headliners Sam and the Womp, made famous by their recent whirlwind number 1 ‘Bom Bom’. Also playing will be Queen of Hearts – a Kylie-style pop enthusiast who will release her single ‘Like A Drug’ in October – and Fly, Frankie, Fly, Frequency favourites who bring their electro/rave back to Southampton.

Meanwhile, in the Bridge Bar, Americana folk band Sienna, will play alongside self proclaimed “feel-good funky folkers” The Robbie Boyd Band. The line up is completed by a performance from four-piece Southampton based funk/rock band Mama Smokes.

Live Music Mondays will continue throughout the term, every Monday in the newly refurbished Bridge Bar.

Tickets are available through the SUSU box office now and cost £8.
