Nestled about halfway through the UK’s festival season, Ben & Jerry’s Sundae Festival presents a different breed of outdoor gig. Not only is it packed with top musical attractions, such as Maximo Park, Ocean Colour Scene, Ash and Gary Numan, but there is an array of side-shows to keep you entertained between the bands, including a “Coconut (Almond Fudge) Shy”, “Ice Your Own Cookies” and “Frozen Yogurt Swing Boats” to keep the music fan with a sweet tooth more than happy throughout the day. There is also the promise of “bare toe wrestling”, the nature of which is currently unclear but cannot fail to be fun.

It takes place on Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July and this year, for the first time, the Ben & Jerry’s Sundae Festival extends to weekends in both London’s Clapham Common and Manchester’s Heaton Park (hence the “Double Scoop“), with tickets costing £17 per day (unless you are lucky enough to be aged 5 or under). This festival has proved in the past to be a fun, good-natured and laid-back experience, and there is free ice cream available, so it could be a tasty weekend!
