Preview: The Fratellis at the O2 Academy, Bournemouth

The Fratellis are a Scottish band who formed in 2005 – and the year after, they had a triple platinum debut album, Costello Music. Their first single from the album was ‘Henrietta’, charting at number 19 in the UK Charts, and their debut album charted at number 2 in the UK Album Charts for three weeks. In 2007 they won a Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act, voted for by Radio 1 listeners.

In 2006 they supported Kasabian. The start of 2007 saw them embarking on their own 10 date tour, before taking on the festival circuit with Glastonbury and headlining T in the Park, amongst others. They released a live DVD, ‘Edgy In Brixton’, which included a full performance of Costello Music and a new song, ‘Pretty Like A Girl’.

They released a second album in 2008 and went on a tour of Australia and Japan in February and March, headlined more festivals such as the Hop Farm Festival. After a three year hiatus of working on seperate projects, they released a third album in 2013 and had a huge UK, US, Europe and Japan tour. A fourth album was released in August 2015.

They will be performing the entirety of Costello Music for the first time to celebrate its tenth anninversary. Tickets are available here.
