The Longest Day are taking over!

If you haven’t heard of them by now, The Longest Day are a local Southampton band that is trying to achieve ‘nothing less than world domination’. They have already gained a strong following here in Southampton’s club scene, and they are now taking their unique mix of passionate, brooding-yet catchy rock up and down the rest of the UK.

Formed in 2008, this young band can only be described as an alternative experimental rock band with grit! Lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Dan Henry, fronts the band with an enigmatic stage presence during their live shows. He draws the audience in with his raw emotive vocals in songs such as ‘Breathe more air’ before the highly charged chorus, kicks in blasting the audience’s previous expectations of the band out of the water. Their songs are full of energy which is aided by the powerful guitar riffs and heavy basslines that lurk in the underbelly of their music. Having recently put the final touches to their as-yet unreleased debut album A State of Indifference, The Longest Day have managed to work  with Producer Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral for a friend, Lost Prophets) and secured  stunning cover art by Marvel Comics + 2000AD artist Boo Cook to finalise an album that looks set to take Southampton by storm in 2011. This band have grown very quickly since they first formed and should be an inspiration to any struggling student band.
