Chart round-up: Cheryl gets fifth UK number one

In this week’s single chart, Cheryl Cole has shot straight to number one with her new hit ‘I Don’t Care’. In at number two is Ed Sheeran with ‘Thinking Out Loud’, who has moved down from last week’s number one spot. Somehow Meghan Trainor has remained in the top three, with her single ‘All About That Bass’ moving down to third position.

John Legend has moved up a remarkable 22 positions to make fourth place with his newest release of ‘All of Me’. Taylor Swift follows closely behind in fifth position with her catchy single ‘Shake it Off’. ‘Outside’, the newest offering from Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding, has entered the singles chart at number six. Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj are continuing their decline in the charts, reaching number seven this week.

Jeremiah, One Direction and Sam Smith all complete the UK top ten this week, with Sam Smith remaining at number ten for the second week now.

In the album chart, Ed Sheeran has moved up one position to the highly coveted number one spot with his second studio album x. Calvin Harris enters the charts this week in second position with Motion, which features singles with John Newman and excitingly, the HAIM gals.

Taylor Swift has moved down two positions with 1989, followed by another new entry from André Rieu with his classical album Love in Venice. John Legend cements his forty-ninth week in the UK album chart moving up eighty positions to number six.

Damien Rice debuts in the charts this week, with his new album My Favourite Faded Fantasy at number seven. George Ezra, The Script and Annie Lennox complete the album chart’s top 10, with The Script moving up six positions to reach the ninth spot.
