First announcements for Reading and Leeds line-up

The first set of acts for Reading and Leeds 2014 have been announced today.

Having played the festivals three times previously – last in 2010 – pop punk trio Blink 182 will be returning as headliners. The band, who have sold 35 million albums worldwide, plan to release their seventh studio album next year, but many fans will be more excited to hear old favourites such as ‘All The Small Things’, ‘What’s My Age Again?’ and ‘The Rock Show’.

Singer songwriter Jake Bugg has also been confirmed for the festivals. A staple on last year’s circuit, Bugg recently released second album Shangri La. He’ll be joined by electronic pop four-piece Metronomy, who will release their new record, Love Letters, in March next year, following well-received single ‘I’m Aquarius’.

Also announced is a live set from Disclosure. Men of the moment Guy and Howard Lawrence are by no means new to the big festival circuit, having performed twice at Glastonbury 2013. The current popularity of house has ensured these two a meteoric rise, and their set is sure to be very well attended.

Of Mice & Men, Wilkinson and I Am Legion will also play the festivals held 22-24th August 2014, with many, many more acts to be announced.
